Product Update - May 2022

This is a minor update on top of Webex Connect v5.6.3. It contains some important enhancements and a few fixes. Here’s a list of the key updates:

• Support for OAuth 2.0 based authentication for Gmail when using SMTP for Outbound Email channel configuration
• Deprecation of SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 security protocols for new Custom Node integration configurations

Added - Support for OAuth 2.0 based authentication for Gmail when using SMTP for Outbound Email channel configuration

Starting 30th May 2020, Google is planning to discontinue the support for Username and Password-based authentication for SMTP connection and will make it mandatory to use OAuth 2.0 as the authentication mechanism instead. As part of this release, we are introducing support for OAuth 2.0-based authentication for Gmail SMTP. We recommend clients to update their existing SMTP-based email assets and change the AUth type to OAuth 2.0, in case they are using Gmail as their email service provider.

Changed - Deprecation of SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 security protocols for new Custom Node integration configurations

We’re deprecating support for SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 security protocols for Custom Node Integration configuration as these are no longer considered secure. This doesn’t impact existing configurations but will not be available for new configurations.

Important Additional Notes

We are planning to discontinue support for iOS 10 and below as part of the next iOS SDK and Cordova SDK releases. We recommend that you plan for upgrading your apps to use the latest SDKs post that release.
