Details

Changed – Push, In-App Messaging, and Live Chat Enhancements

Added – Support for Dynamic Forms for Live Chat and In-App Messaging channels including some enhancements

As part of this release, we are introducing the capability of sending Form Messages dynamically, using the Send Node. This will allow you to send relevant Forms dynamically based on the runtime conditions in your workflow. We have also made enhancements to the Receive Node so that it can be resumed on receiving response to any form unlike earlier where you had to explicitly select the form template on which a response was being awaited to resume the flow.

Apart from this, we are introducing a new field type called ‘multiSelectDropdown’ in form messages (currently supported for Live Chat alone). This will enable you to let customers select multiple options in a dropdown sent as part of the form message.

Note: Dynamic forms as well as the ‘multiSelectDropdown’ option can only be sent from within the send node by selecting the content type as ‘Dynamic’.

Changed – Updated SDKs for Push, In-App Messaging, and Live Chat

We are releasing the following SDKs as part of this release:

  • Android SDK v2.17.1

  • Cordova SDK v2.5.0

  • Android UI SDK v1.3.1

  • iOS UI SDK v1.3.1

  • JavaScript SDK v1.5.0

Android Core SDK Changes

Starting this release onwards, we are separating the Android SDKs for Google Mobile Services and Huawei Mobile Services. This will allow you to avoid any cross-platform code in your apps and will help make the approval process easier for publishing your apps on Google’s play store. Additionally, necessary enhancements have been made in the SDKs to ensure compatibility with the upcoming OS upgrade, i.e., Android 13.

Cordova SDK Changes

Like our Android SDK, we are separating the Cordova SDKs for Google Mobile Services and Huawei Mobile Services. Additionally, the SDK has been updated to support Android 13.

Android and iOS UI SDKs

The latest version of Android and iOS UI SDKs include new UI components to support quick replies and generic template messages. This will enable you to introduce interactive messaging capabilities in your apps by using the UI SDK components.

For more information on this feature, kindly refer to our documentation.

JavaScript SDK

In this release, we have introduced support for ‘multiSelectDropdown’ as a new field type in form messages. This capability is currently, supported only for Live Chat channel.

Changed – Integration nodes for Webex Assist (formerly imiassist)

We have launched a newer version of integration nodes for Webex Assist (formerly imiassist) with enhanced support for input and output variables. With this we’re also deprecating the existing version of imiassist nodes. Please reach out to the support team to get the Webex Assist integration added to your tenant. You would need to be an existing Webex Assist client to be able to use this feature.

Important Additional Notes

As informed previously, we had launched enhanced versions of Debug Console and Export Logs as part of earlier releases. The newer interfaces were available on default until now. We’re now shifting to having new versions of Debug Console and Export Logs for all new Webex Connect tenants. Additionally, for existing tenants, we will be moving to the newer Debug Console interface.
