Apple Messages for Business compliance updates
Apple began enforcing updated Apple Messages for Business payload requirements on 21 August 2026. This notice applies only to Webex Connect customers using Apple Messages for Business.
Review all active Apple Messages for Business flow nodes and Rich Link Preview asset configurations, and update any non-compliant configurations.
Review Interactive Message UI text
Interactive Message UI fields do not share one platform-wide character limit.
For Apple-rendered Interactive Message fields, each title, subtitle, label, button, hint, and similar UI string must use printable Unicode characters and must not exceed 200 characters.
Ordinary Text messages are unaffected.
Replace non-compliant images
Images used in Interactive Messages, Rich Links, and Invitation Messages must be PNG and 200 KB or less.
The images array must remain below 5 MB. Ordinary attachment formats are unchanged.
Webex Connect does not automatically convert source images, so replace affected assets with compliant PNG files.
Update domain-specific Rich Link previews
Existing domain previews may be non-PNG or larger than 200 KB.
Under Rich Link Previews for Domains, replace each affected image with a PNG of 200 KB or less and confirm that its asset identifier resolves correctly.
Update Form keyboard types
Current examples use UIKeyboardTypeEmailAddress, and existing flows may use other UIKeyboardType aliases.
Going forward, supported values are:
default, asciiCapable, numbersAndPunctuation, URL, numberPad, phonePad, namePhonePad, emailAddress, decimalPad, and webSearch.
Webex Connect sends default for an unsupported value. Update active Form nodes to preserve the intended keyboard.
Review configured limits
Quick Replies remain limited to 2 through 5 items, so this does not change.
Apple Pay lineItems and newLineItems are limited to 20 items each.
For Time Picker locations:
latitudemust be from-90through90.longitudemust be from-180through180.radiusmust be non-negative.timezoneOffsetmust be from-720through840minutes.
Customer action
Messages that do not meet Apple's requirements may be rejected and not delivered.
Review each active Apple Messages for Business Send node and domain preview configuration, then test affected journeys on an Apple device.
Webex Connect handles Apple's required payload data types and uses a compliant page image, compliant domain preview, or the platform default PNG for automatically generated Rich Links.
