Details

Enhanced - Security updates for Webex Connect & Gateways

Webex Connect now requires passwords to contain at least 12 characters and applies a 90-day
expiration period after a password reset. Existing passwords keep their current expiration
schedule until users reset them. The 20-character maximum and existing character-composition
requirements remain unchanged.

Added - CPaaS MCP Server for WhatsApp and RCS through Channel Assets

Webex Connect introduces a CPaaS MCP Server that lets MCP-compatible AI agents and
applications discover approved sender IDs and send outbound WhatsApp and RCS messages
through the customer’s existing Webex Connect tenant, while retaining administrator controls.
The server includes the webex-sender-ids, webex-whatsapp-message, and webex-rcs-message
tools.

Added - AI Agent Fulfillment Actions for Groups and Teams

AI Agent fulfilment actions now support services and flows created at the Group and Team levels
in Webex Connect. These services and flows can be configured and tested within their native
scope without being moved to the tenant level. Group and Team names are displayed to help
identify the scope of each service. Existing tenant-level configurations continue to work as before.

Important Additional Notes

Time zone data modernization and planned updates

As part of our timezone data modernization, we’re moving the static timezone list used by the
Social Hour node and Tenant Settings to a database-backed source, initially using IANA tzdb 2025b. This establishes the foundation for scheduled timezone-data updates as new releases
become available.

This initial update reflects Paraguay’s permanent UTC−03 timezone, adds America/Coyhaique for
Chile’s Aysén Region, and includes historical corrections for the Philippines and Iran. Existing
saved timezone selections will be retained. Any changes to the UTC offset or daylight saving rules
for a selected timezone that are included in this update will automatically apply to future localtime
calculations.

A subsequent scheduled update will bring the database to a newer IANA release, including the
Canadian permanent-time changes for British Columbia, Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and
Manitoba. Those Canadian changes are not included in this initial release.

User audit log retention

Webex Connect now retains user audit logs for 12 months, increased from 180 days. The longer
retention period supports audit requirements and provides a longer history for reviewing user
activity.

FixedFixed an issue where Custom Node output variables could retain values from a previous successful loop iteration when a later API call failed. The failed iteration no longer uses stale values from the earlier iteration.
