Webex Connect v6.8.0 - Minor Update release brings multiple new capabilities to help you continue delivering seamless customer experiences. Here’s a list of the key updates and enhancements that are a part of this release:

Added - Ability to Configure Fulfilment Flows for Webex AI Agent Actions

We are excited to announce a new feature that significantly enhances the integration and automation capabilities of the AI Agent Studio (formerly Bot Builder). This update allows AI Agent Studio users to effortlessly access flows configured with the AI Agent trigger on Webex Connect. This streamlines the management of fulfilment flows triggered by AI Agents and ensures the seamless execution of the same. The feature incorporates a notification mechanism to inform the AI Agent about the flow outcome.

 The feature will be available to all the Webex Connect tenants with access to AI Agent Studio app tray. Here are a few caveats for this feature:

  • The AI agent can only access flows configured within the Client-level workspace.
  • You will not be able to use certain nodes such as Delay, Social Hour, and Receive, etc, in flows that have AI Agents configured as the flow trigger.

Added – Push, In-App Messaging, and Live Chat-related enhancements

We are releasing the following SDK versions as part of this release:

  • Android SDK v2.20.5
  • iOS SDK v2.19.7
  • Modular Android SDK v3.0.1
  • Modular iOS SDK v3.0.1

 Here’s a summary of the changes:

  • We are releasing an updated version of Android and iOS SDK (i.e., Android SDK v2.20.5 and iOS SDK v2.19.7), wherein, we have added support for proactively removing the profiles of users who have not been active for more than a month from the Monthly Addressable Devices (MADs) list. With this, such profiles will not be included in MAD counts in the monthly usage report. This change comes into effect from the day the app users upgrade to the latest versions of your apps with these SDKs.
  • We are releasing an updated version of our Modular Android and iOS SDKs. These versions support migrating existing registration data from SDK v2.x to SDK v3.0.1.

 Note: For existing users of Webex Connect SDKs for Push and In-App Messaging, we have previously announced an update to assist with the migration and ensure a smooth transition to the Modularized SDKs. We are pleased to inform you that we have now added support for migrating existing registration data from SDK v2.x.

Important Additional Notes

  • We will be adding a new parameter in SMS Outbound Webhook and Data Stream payloads to include the SMS multipart message count detail. This feature will be enabled for all tenants as part of v6.9.0 release, and it applies to delivered and failed delivery receipts. We recommend you refer to the documentation after this release, to get information about the new parameter and make required changes in your implementation, to leverage this information as may be relevant.
  • WhatsApp has updated its 'Opt-In' policy, removing the requirement for a WhatsApp-specific 'Opt-In' permission to message customers. Businesses can now use general 'Opt-In' permissions, as long as they adhere to local laws.
  • Beginning January 23, 2025, The Campaign Registry (TCR) is making it mandatory to pass the reseller information to be passed when registering new Campaigns or updating the existing ones. We are actively working on updating our internal systems to comply with mandates from The Campaign Registry (TCR), ensuring you can create campaigns seamlessly. In the interim period, Webex Connect users are encouraged to contact their account manager if they experience any errors related to missing reseller information when adding new campaigns. Your account manager will assist in resolving the issue by raising a support request. Alternatively, you can write to Webex Connect Customer Support Team for a resolution.
