How to Change Your WhatsApp Business Display Name
Your WhatsApp Business display name is how your business name will appear when you send a message to your customers. After your display name has been approved, you can change it.
Change your display name
To change your display name in Meta WhatsApp Manager:
- Go to Business Manager and select your business.
- Click the triple bar.
- Click WhatsApp Manager.
- Click the account that you want to change the display name for.
- Navigate to the left-most menu and click Phone numbers.
- Under the Name column, hover over your current display name and click the pencil icon.
- In the Edit display name section, enter a new display name.
- Select Next.
Your display name will need to be approved by WhatsApp before it becomes available on WhatsApp, on the customer's mobile application. Once the display name has been approved, it will automatically be applied and you will receive communication by email about the registration being completed. If there is an error, Webex will send an email stating that the number cannot be re-registered with the new display name. Please note automated display name approval is not available for On-premises based apps.
Display Name Update frequency: Your businesses can change the display names up to 10 times in a 30-day period. Once the 30-day period is up, a new 30-day period will begin and your businesses can again change the display names up to 10 times in this new 30-day period.
Display Name review required for increasing Messaging Limit.
Display name review will no longer be needed to get started on the WhatsApp Business platform. However, if you look to increase messaging limits, you have to complete your business verification. Display name review will be initiated after the business verification has been completed. Businesses should still follow the display name best practices when adding a new phone number.
